Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1 cup of boiling water
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, and mix until smooth. Stir in the boiling water by hand.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
